At ReWildHer, we understand that healing isn't just about biochemistry—it's about your nervous system's ability to feel safe enough to heal. If you're constantly in survival mode, your body can't fully rest, repair, or rebalance. Most women today are unknowingly living in a chronic stress response due to personal, generational, and systemic trauma—including the lasting impacts of colonization and cultural disempowerment.
The Three Survival States (Autonomic Dysregulation)
1. Fight or Flight – The Mobilized Survival Response
This state is governed by the sympathetic nervous system and is designed to help us escape danger. It looks like anxiety, hypervigilance, irritability, racing thoughts, insomnia, and a sense of 'always being on.'
2. Freeze or Collapse – The Immobilized Survival Response
This is a dorsal vagal parasympathetic response. When fight or flight fails, the body shuts down to survive. It manifests as depression, exhaustion, numbness, brain fog, disconnection, and hopelessness.
3. Fawning – The People-Pleasing Survival Response
Though less discussed in classic nervous system models, fawning is a deeply wired survival strategy—especially for women. It shows up as over-caretaking, inability to set boundaries, constant self-sacrifice, and living for external validation.
The Parasympathetic Shift – Where Healing Happens
True healing only happens when the body enters the parasympathetic state—specifically the ventral vagal branch. This is where we feel safe, supported, connected, and regulated enough to rest, digest, detoxify, and repair.
This is not just theory. It's biology. No matter how many supplements or prescriptions you take, if your nervous system is locked in survival mode, your body won’t receive the healing message.
How We Shift You Into Healing
At ReWildHer, we guide you gently into nervous system safety using both science and somatic practice:
• Somatic movement therapy and JourneyDance™ to release stored trauma
• The Rediscovery Journey™ and Art of Compassion (Stephanie Mines) to rewire patterns of fear and shutdown
• Yoga, breathwork, and stillness to re-engage your parasympathetic system
• Nutrition, gentle detox support, and rhythmic hormone care to stabilize your physiology
• Circle, co-regulation, and sacred witnessing to bring you back into felt safety and belonging
These tools are not optional extras—they are the core of healing. Because your body isn’t failing. It’s protecting you. And it’s waiting for a signal that you’re safe enough to come back online.
Let us help you find that signal—and remember the rhythm your body never forgot.
